We reopen them to bring people together. AI Custodi help people discover them. We’re looking for those who will bring them back to life.

We open the doors.

We look for people ready to bring a public space back into use.

    Before

    The municipality and the association choose a place and occasion, ideally a village celebration.

  2. 02

    During

    People share memories, ideas and offers of help. Their accounts still need checking.

  3. 03

    After

    A QR code stays. The artificial voice preserves this first encounter and helps prepare the next.

Then, the conversation continues.

  1. Meet the place

    A QR code on the door or a direct link takes you to its custode. You can also start here by choosing a place.

  2. Talk to it

    The place speaks in the first person and declares that it is an artificial voice. Ask a question, leave a memory or suggest an idea.

  3. Find people who can act

    Memories, ideas and offers of help can lead to real encounters. Opening a door takes people, checks and agreements: the conversation is a beginning.

Share what you remember and, if you can, when it happened. It is a testimony to preserve and check: it does not automatically become a fact.

Describe what you imagine and who it could help. The custode can collect your proposal and help clarify it; it cannot promise permits, funding or a reopening.

Share your skills and availability. To speak with the association, email hello@rural-pop-up.events. People decide on the next steps together.

Memory deserves care.

  • It distinguishes what it knows

    Verified facts, memories, hypotheses and unknowns remain distinct. When it does not know, it says so.

  • It does not take everything as true

    New information and attachments need simple, traceable human checks.

  • It keeps private things private

    Contacts and private content stay separate from the place’s public memory.

  • It stays on the place’s side

    Memory belongs to the place. The artificial voice prepares encounters; it does not replace people.

Preparing to reopen

A new life for Il Crutìn

From Como to Borgomale: Camilla and Emanuele are working on the revival of the historic Il Crutìn and getting ready.

Giorgia, the association’s president and the place’s human custodian, supports them. Il Crutìn is the first Custode: its artificial voice gathers its history and prepares new encounters.

A future meeting place for residents, visitors and groups. Il Crutìn is municipal property: management will be awarded by the municipality through a public procedure open to anyone. The reopening date is still to be confirmed.

THE NEXT ENCOUNTER / TEST 01

Ex Alimentari · Rocca Cigliè

After Il Crutìn, the journey continues at the former grocery shop in Rocca Cigliè. Our intervention here will take place alongside ELT – Eventi Luminosi Transitori: the genesis becomes part of an existing event, to meet the people spending time in the village.
